Thanks to its location in the centre of Europe, it is very easy and convenient to travel around by plane, bus, or train. Prague is just 4 hours by bus or train from other major European cities such as Berlin or Vienna! Various carriers, including low cost airlines, operate flights from the Czech Republic to popular destinations in Europe and beyond, and the country is exceptionally well served by rail transport as well as offering many bus connections.

Prague has one of the best public transportation systems in Europe. With a student pass (costing around 50 € per year) you can reach every corner of the city quickly and conveniently using the metro, trams and buses. Ferries across the river and a funicular to the top of the Petřín hill in the centre of the city are also part of the network.

Even the biggest cities in the Czech Republic have parks where you can relax. Indeed, Prague is the greenest metropolis in the world! Weekends are made for trips, though – there is so much to discover all over the country: mountains, lakes, forests and castles are waiting for you, and plenty more. Don't be afraid to explore!

Various cultural events take place throughout the year. If you are a film fan, you might have heard about the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival or the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, while music lovers will enjoy Colours of Ostrava, Rock for People or the Prague Spring festival of classical music.
